Parents’ Choice and Grammy Award-winning family folk duo The Okee Dokee Brothers perform Jan. 14 at 6:30 p.m. Joined by a full band, the Brothers will perform songs inspired by a canoe trip along the Mississippi River and backpacking on the Appalachian Trail.
Minneapolis-based duo Sossy Mechanics bring their play Trick Boxing to Winona Jan. 27 at 7:30 p.m. When Danny, an immigrant apple seller with so-so English, gets tricked into becoming a boxer, it’s up to dance hall dame Bella to take him under her wing. This “brilliantly, cleverly funny” romantic comedy combines “dance numbers to rival a Ginger Rogers/Fred Astaire musical” and banter to rival Abbott and Costello.
