44 North hotel opens in downtown Winona
Winona just got a little more welcoming! The city’s newest hotel, 44 North, has officially opened its doors with a ribbon-cutting celebration on November 12, 2025, marking the grand finale of its much-anticipated construction.
WKBT shared a feature showcasing the new hotel, including details of the new hotel’s lobby, rooms and more. Stepping inside, guests are greeted with a beautiful nod to Winona’s rich past—historic photos of downtown line the walls, blending small-town charm with modern comfort. Every detail reflects the owners’ deep connection to the community and their passion for sharing Winona’s story with visitors.
“We just love our town and being part of this community,” said co-owner Jess Rivers. “We’re excited to showcase something great that brings more people to experience Winona.”
The Winona Post also covered the new hotel’s opening event.
“Together, we didn’t just build a hotel, we built a landmark that’s going to stay in this town for centuries to come,” Jeff Wieser of Wieser Brothers General Contractor said at the ribbon-cutting. “And I think I speak for the Wieser Brothers, we’re proud to be a part of that.”
The new five-story development is located downtown behind the Winona 7 Cinema. The building includes 76 hotel rooms on the east side of the building and 24 apartments, Flats at 44 North, on the west side. It also includes a pool, hot tub, sauna, fitness center, meeting rooms, a bar, a parking garage for tenants, and a patio with grills.
Whether you’re here to explore the Mississippi River bluffs, stroll through downtown, or soak up the city’s vibrant arts and culture, 44 North is ready to welcome you with open arms and hometown pride.
