America 250: Winona County
Celebrating 250 Years of the American Story — Right Here in Winona County
Honoring History. Inspiring the Future.
In 2026, our nation will mark a historic milestone: the 250th anniversary of the signing of the Declaration of Independence. Across the country, communities are coming together to honor this moment, and Winona County is proud to join the celebration.
Winona County is bringing the spirit of the Semiquincentennial to life through special events, partnerships, and community projects that reflect our shared history, diverse voices, and bright future. From riverfront festivals and heritage programs to youth engagement and storytelling initiatives, our goal is to connect residents and visitors through experiences that inspire pride, learning, and unity. Together, we’ll celebrate the people, places, and ideas that make Winona County, and America, extraordinary.
Join us as we honor the past, celebrate the present, and imagine the future. Because the story of America’s next 250 years begins here — with all of us. Learn more about our featured, special events below and submit additional events to [email protected].

Logo design by José Peláez
“At the center, the bald eagle represents strength, freedom, and vigilance, looking forward to the future. The split color palette reflects the American spirit—different perspectives coming together as one. Three stars on each side create balance and unity, while the flowing stripes echo a waving flag, reminding us that this milestone is both a reflection and a celebration.”
