Often referred to as “Wisconsin’s Stonehenge”, Kinstone is a modern megalithic sculpture garden in rural Fountain City, WI. It is a contemplative, park-like place with spectacular views and large-scale land art over a 15-acre area. Kinstone is home to what may be the largest privately owned stone circle in the world! Founded/created by Kristine Beck in 2011, Kinstone is a deeply energetic place where visitors are inspired and transformed by the land, stone, and natural world.
This stunning bluff-top property has over 180 intentionally placed boulders and standing stones including three stone circles, dolmen with a 13-ton capstone, classic 7-circuit labyrinth, and dry-stack stone sculpture. There is also the unique thatched, cordwood Chapel of Creation and other natural buildings, food forest gardens, planted prairie and more. There are several seasonal alignments that can be seen only at Solstices and Equinoxes. Visitors love to wander the mown grass paths around this place, reading the signage at each feature and taking in the serenity and beauty. Many come to walk the labyrinth, walk the Way of the Stones pilgrimage, attend outdoor concerts, drum circles, workshops, meditation, yoga, celebration of seasons & more.
Expect to spend 2+ hours walking the grounds on your own or arrange a private tour. Bring a water bottle, sunblock, sturdy shoes, dress for weather, be prepared to walk rough, sometimes steep terrain. Stop in our Kinstone Gift Shop to find Kinstone merchandise, photo cards, and unique, one-of-a-kind gifts. This private property is only open to the public on a published, seasonal schedule; admission fee is required.
