Saint Mary’s University Hiking and Skiing Trails

Some of the best trails in southern Minnesota. Tucked in the valley behind the school, the trails run around the northern slopes of the valley making them quite challenging and also well protected from the sun. Trail length: 14.5K.

The trails are open to the public all day. Snowshoeing and dogs are not allowed on the groomed trails.

The lighted portion of the trail is open to the public, daily, 4:30 – 10:30 p.m. The Nordic Ski Center is open to the public, daily, 7 a.m. – 11 p.m. in the rear basement of Brother Leo Hall.

Ski equipment is available for SMU students, faculty and staff to rent. Equipment is not available for the general public to rent.
