Bartlet Lake

About Bartlet Lake

Bartlet Lake is a quiet backwater lake inside the Winona dike, near the airport. It’s a good place to fish in the warm months and a great ice fishing spot. Anglers can expect to find a variety of fish including black bullhead, black crappie, bluegill, brown bullhead, northern pike, walleye and yellow perch here

A hotspot for birding too. Yellow-headed blackbirds and marsh wrens in the reeds, migratory waterfowl, especially dabblers—northern shovelers, blue-winged and green-winged teal, wood ducks, northern pintails, diving ducks and shorebirds etc. Osprey pair nests on a nearby light post, returns yearly.
