About Winona County History Center
Located in historic downtown Winona, the Winona County History Center is made up of the old Armory (1915) and the award-winning contemporary Laird Norton Addition (2010), and houses three floors of exhibits, The Museum Shop, multiple programming and event spaces, the Laird Lucas Library and Archives and more!

The large gift shop also has Winona and Minnesota apparel, local and regional books, souvenirs, and art. Plus Victorian and vintage-inspired decor, games, toys and old fashioned treats can be found. Locals and visitors love to shop the Museum Shop!
Get Ready for New Adventures!
We have started phase 1 construction on the main exhibit hall. Exhibits will be closed during construction until May 2026. The Archives and Level B (Lano Photography Exhibit) and the Briarcombe Room will be closed for artifact prep and movement during phase 1 construction in January and February. We thank you for your patience during this big project.
The new exhibits opening in May include The River Gallery, an updated Children’s exhibit, and a new exhibit led by the Native Advisory Council.
