Dixieland Jazz Festival
Though Winona’s at the opposite end of the Mississippi from the birthplace of jazz, monthly jazz band performances, a Dixieland Jazz Festival, and even our own Mardi Gras celebration keeps the toe-tapping music alive here year-round.

Winona State University Campus (On The Green, near the Performing Arts Center)
12:30–The Southside Aces, from Minneapolis: Great Dixieland Music! They even play music you can dance to. Imagine yourself in a New Orleans Dance Hall.
2:45–Seven Rivers Jazz Band, from Lacrosse, WI: This members of this talented group of musicians have played in featured bands, and have backed entertainers, such as the Disney world Trombone Band, Steve Allen, Frankie Valli, The Guy Lombardo Orchestra, and more. Come and hear Hall of Fame Banjo player, Paul Erickson.
5:00–Gate City Jazz Band: This Eight Piece Band from Winona has played in every festival. They also play on the last Sunday of the month, from Mardi Gras through October, at the Jefferson Pub & Grill in Winona.
