Oh, Canada!

  Oh, Canada! features art and artists exploring the people, maritime history, and incredible landscapes of Canada. Included are works by Donald Curley, Jack Gray, Luther Pokrant, Randolph Parker, Christopher Walker, and Robert Glenn. Also featured is a new painting by contemporary master Len Tantillo, Quebec City, c. 1748, depicting this important maritime center and one of the oldest European settlements in North America.

Salvaged Medium Art Exhibit by Jamie Harper

Jamie Harper, Winona based artist, will be opening a new exhibit of reclaimed material paintings at No Name on  November 15 from 6- 8 p.m. All paintings are done with salvaged latex house paint on repurposed hollow core doors. Most of the paintings are recent works. The exhibit will stay up through the end of December.

Neece is inspired by both the cultural and aesthetic affects of digital technologies as it reshapes our worldview—not only in the actuality of present technology, but the technological imagination of humanity throughout history through science fiction literature and movies. This exhibit will feature this popular photographer’s unique images of dogs diving underwater. His images have gone viral online and resulted in a New York Times best selling book, yet this is his first major museum exhibition. The Minnesota Marine Art Museum is home to a world-class collection that includes works by Picasso, Monet, and Van Gogh as well as works of well-known Hudson River and Impressionist artists. MMAM also hosts traveling collections of paintings, photography and other water-themed art.

Printmaking Studio Exhibit

A unique exhibit featuring the work of printmaking artists ages of all levels who participated in a workshop for ages 55+ alongside teens from Riverway Learning Community. The community is invited to an open house, where they can meet and greet the artists and walk though Galleria Valencia on Tuesday November 19 from 4:30 p.m. – 6:00 p.m.

H2OH! Art Quilts

Manipulating fabric and fabric-like materials, quilt artists interpret water as one of the most vital, desired, powerful, sacred, and enjoyed resources on earth in H2Oh! Art Quilts. This exhibition features 34 unique pieces created by members of Studio Art Quilt Associates (SAQA), a nonprofit organization whose mission is to promote the art quilt.

Animals on Parade

Come and experience MCA’s emerging Dance Repertory Company II (DRC II) members in this dance showcase. The performances will feature dancers aged 5-13 years performing, tap, ballet, hip hop, modern and musical theatre to favorite animal themed songs. Audiences will be delighted as they see Inspector Clouseau’s tapping in search of that sneaky Pink Panther, ballet dancers personifying birds and fish to selections of Camille Saint-Saëns’ Carnival of the Animals, Jellical Cats pouncing on stage to a musical theatre selection…
