MMAM: Memories of Titanic

Explore art and objects associated with the loss and shipwreck of RMS Titanic. On view will be a young survivor’s riveting first-hand account of the disaster, including the loss of her father, in her diary and personal letters. Also included are paintings by American artist Colin Campbell Cooper from when he was aboard the rescue ship Carpathia, and a ship model, original telegrams, and more.

Votes For Women: A Portrait Of Persistence – A Poster Exhibit from the Smithsonian

The crusade for women’s suffrage is one of the longest reform movements in American history. Between 1832 and 1920, women citizens organized for the right to vote, agitating first in their states or territories and also, simultaneously, through petitioning for a federal amendment. An event every week that begins at 4:00 pm on Friday, repeating until October 30, 2020

#DineOutDowntown is a collaborative effort between the Winona Main Street Program and Winona Area Chamber of Commerce aimed at allowing restaurants, bars, and retailers to have one night a week where restaurants can expand their outdoor seating capacity in a safe manner and retail businesses can display product outside their store/into the street if they wish. Community members will feel safer to spend time downtown if there is more space to practice social distancing and no traffic to worry about.

MMAM: Greg DeGrace: Driftless

With varying degrees of abstraction, Minneapolis painter Greg DeGrace’s paintings reference the Driftless region of Minnesota and Wisconsin, an area that escaped the flattening effects of glaciers during the last ice age. Working in encaustic wax and pigment to create textural paintings, DeGrace references maps, aerial photographs, linear and geometric patterns found in roadways and plots of land with the natural, free-flowing forms of area waterways.
