Carriage House Bed and Breakfast celebrates its 2nd anniversary with new innkeepers

Carriage House- Bed and Breakfast

The Victorian-era Carriage House Bed and Breakfast is celebrating its 2nd year in business with new owners, Jan Grenell and her daughter Grace Irwin. Grenell moved to Winona in 2021 to run the bed and breakfast and to be near her daughter and granddaughter. The 19th century historic house originally opened in 1986 and accommodates guests in the former carriage house. The main house offers common areas for guests to socialize and a dining room that seats up to 18 people for an artisan breakfast.

Grenell and Irwin have felt that the last two years have been a positive experience and especially enjoy the getting to know their guests and often feel they are like family to them. They also enjoy sharing the many outdoor recreation and art opportunities that Winona has to offer.

“I feel like people do love this quirky little town,” Irwin said in a Winona Daily News interview.  “We’re in this look nook, right in the Driftless Region where we have these beautiful bluffs and there’s tons of stuff to do.”
