Inaugural Run of Borealis Passenger Trip Welcoming Event in Winona, MN

The inaugural run of the Borealis passenger train, operated by Amtrak, will take place on Tuesday, May 21, 2024, with a stop in Winona’s Amtrak Depot, 65 East Mark Street, at 1:40pm.  The train will then depart for Chicago at 1:45pm.

There will be a welcoming ceremony at the depot starting at 12:45pm with comments by legislators, regional and local dignitaries, along with a proclamation of Borealis Day by Winona Mayor, Scott Sherman.  The Chamber Ambassadors will do a ribbon-cutting at 1:40pm.

Some vendor booths and refreshments will be available.  The public is invited and encouraged to attend this celebratory event at 12:45pm and join in to welcome the new Borealis train which will run daily between St Paul and Chicago.

Arrives Winona (Winona Station) at 1:40pm
Arrives Chicago at 7:14pm
Borealis Train (Westbound)
Departs Chicago at 11:05am
Departs Winona (Winona Station) at 4:36pm
Arrives St Paul (Union Depot) at 6:29pm
