Minnesota Marine Art Museum Exhibitions

Along with the Museum’s significant historical collections, the Minnesota Marine Art Museum (MMAM) presents numerous temporary exhibitions each year. Recently, the MMAM opened 3 new exhibitions! One of them is Open to Interpretation: Water’s Edge, a contemporary photography-meets-poetry project led by Minnesota photographers Clare O’Neill and Douglas Beasley, as well as writer Anastasia Faunce. The exhibition, which is on exhibit until October 9th, contains provocative elements from a book published by O’Neill of the same title. In this project, the creators paired single images each with two literary works created with inspiration from the image. On exhibit are both the photographs and literary works. An interactive element in the exhibition allows visitors to create their own written interpretations as well. MMAM gallery and store hours are 10am – 5pm, Tuesday – Sunday. More information about visiting and supporting your art museum can be found at mmam.org.
