People around the world are constantly on the move. Food, water, land, work, illness, war, family, and religion are some of the reasons. Communities change as the people change. From Polish to Hmong, many nationalities have made Winona County their new home in search of religious freedom, work, and new beginnings. Through their stories, from our past and today, we explore the cultural influences in our community.
The exhibit will include artifacts from the Winona County Historical Society’s collection as well as items on loan from the Polish Museum in Winona and Luxembourg Museum in Rollingstone. Part of the exhibit will be, “One Community, Many Stories” from Project FINE, highlighting the stories of today’s immigrants to Winona County.
