Road Trip Ready: MN Bucketlist Mom’s Summer Weekend in Winona

Recently, influencer MN Bucketlist Mom ventured to Winona for a weekend getaway filled with local flavors, outdoor adventures, shopping, and family-friendly fun. The family visit provided a glimpse into what makes Winona such a memorable destination, from enjoying an orange cardamom cinnamon roll and coffee at Café Zorya to exploring the engaging exhibits and galleries at the Winona County History Center. After settling into Hotel 44 North, the mother-daughter duo spent the afternoon browsing local boutiques throughout downtown – Heart’s Desire, Green Thumb Artistry, Bumble Bee Soaps, ClaraLouise, Mélange Resale & Boutique, Winona Hatchery and Loft on Third – before ending the day with dinner on the beautiful patio at Signatures Restaurant and a sweet treat from Nate & Ally’s Frozen Treat Creations.

Saturday began with breakfast at Hotel 44 North, where guests can enjoy a complimentary breakfast before heading out to explore the city. The two wandered next door to the Winona Farmers Market for a taste of vibrant Winona community paired with fresh produce, flowers, and baked sourdough bread from some of Winona’s favorite local vendors (looking at you, Castlerock Sourdough). The day continued with a visit to Every Child’s Dream Playground, an inclusive and expansive play area at Lake Park before heading out onto the water for paddle boarding on the Big Lake Winona (rented from Lake Lodge Rec Center). No visit to Winona would be complete without a stop at Lakeview Drive Inn, where they enjoyed one of the area’s most beloved summer traditions, a classic root beer float.
