Great River Bluff State Park featured in MN Trails Guest Blog

Avid outsdoorswoman and freelance writer Alyson Everson spent an October weekend hiking the trails and camping overnight at the Great River Bluffs State Park .  “The park contains two Scientific and Natural Areas (SNAs), King’s and Queen’s Bluff. The King’s Bluff trail offers a breathtaking view of the Mississippi River Valley. Bring your binoculars; the river valley is a major flyway for waterfowl, eagles, and hawks.”

The MN Trails magazine featured Everson’s blog on its website. The magazine focuses on experiencing Minnesota’s incredible parks and trails. “We chose Great River Bluffs because it lives up to its name. Here, in the Driftless area at the foot of Minnesota, the landscape wasn’t originally covered in the glaciers, which ground down the features of the land in the northern parts of the state. The bluffs the park is named for are still here and make for great hiking with many scenic views of the Mississippi River.”
