Minnesota Marine Art Museum highlighted in Explore Minnesota

Freelance writer Sheila Regan wrote about her experience visiting the Minnesota Marine Art Museum and highlighted its art collections. The article appeared in the Explore Minnesota Tourism “Discover New Content,” section and featured the MMAM’s European (Impressionists, Cubism and late 19th Century), American (Hudson River School) and Contemporary collections (Winona artists Leo and Marilyn Smith, and MMAM’s robust exhibition schedule featuring photography, painting, printmaking and sculpture). Works by Leutze, Cezanne, Picasso, Chagall, Wyeth and O’Keeffe were given recognition.

Regan writes : “Winona and its vibrant arts community have long been informed by the river and its lush natural surroundings. Although still relatively young, the Minnesota Marine Art Museum (MMAM) is now a major draw for visitors both local and international, and its presence has helped cement Winona‘s reputation as one of Minnesota’s most vibrant arts scenes.”
