MMAM Photography exhibit opens

Opening September 1st at the Minnesota Marine Art Museum is Mississippi River Photo Shootout: A Juried Exhibition. Mississippi River Photo Shootout is an exhibition of outstanding contemporary photographs interpreting, documenting, and celebrating the Mississippi River and life along the Mississippi, from its Minnesota headwaters to the Gulf of Mexico. Subjects include sights and scenes depicting riverscapes, recreation, commerce, wildlife, weather conditions, nature and natural phenomena. All the photography has been created by amateur and professional photographers who live, work and play throughout the Mississippi River Basin; including Winona photographers Kari Yearous and Joy Davis Ripley. Judges selected 103 images from more than 500 submissions, creating a large body of photographs as rich and diverse as the river itself. This exhibition is part of the Minnesota Marine Art Museum’s on-going Mississippi River Series and runs through December 23, 2017.
