On the second Saturday of each month, the Minnesota Marine Art Museum offers $1 admission, guided tours, art making projects, live music, and special themed tours and activities.
This month’s theme is ‘Community’. The event will take place November 9, 2019 from 10am-5pm.
In conjunction with their currently running H2Oh! Art Quilts exhibition, one of the 2nd Saturday activities will be a quilting demonstration. Musical artists Mike Munson, and Flutistry will both perform. There will even be a photo booth on-site!
About 2nd Saturdays
Second Saturdays is an arts access program with the goal of reducing intimidation and increasing comfortable access to the fine arts for everyone. MMAM developed this program to change, expand and enrich the way we connect with our community in Winona, Minnesota. MMAM is enriching its understanding of Winona and tailoring aspects of our programming to help sustain life-long access to the museum.
About the Museum
Built on the pastoral shore of the Mississippi River and surrounded by swaying native prairie plantings, the Minnesota Marine Art Museum boasts a collection of fine art that rivals even the most cosmopolitan cities.
Picasso, Van Gogh, Renoir, Matisse and the work of scores of other painting masters hang in the treasured galleries here, each depicting a scene that celebrates navigable waterways. Local folk art and visiting internationally-acclaimed shows, as well as a sunny terrace for whiling away some time, round out this museum’s much-celebrated offerings.
