Visit Winona’s MN Gator Campaign featured on Travel Vertical Podcast

Visit Winona’s April Fool’s ad campaign, “Swimming with Alligators,”  was featured on the Travel Vertical Podcast.  The Travel Vertical  is a part of the Destination Marketing Podcast Network and this was the first episode of the podcast on Spotify and was co-hosted by Adam Stoker and Laurie Farr. It focused on the success of the campaign beyond just the one day it was launched. Due to the success of (over 10,00 Facebook engagements and over 1,000 click views) and response to the campaign, Visit Winona left the landing page up and will continue to expand on the its marketing theme of comparing Winona to Miami, referring to Winona as the “Miami of Minnesota.” Visit Winona also created a “I Swam with the Alligators,” T shirt that is for purchase on the website. “Cheeky sense of humor,” and a DMO who “punch above their weight,” were words that Laurie Farr used to described Visit Winona.
