StarTribune tells about Winona State University adding a new high ropes course as part of its outdoor education and wellness initiatives. The 45-foot-tall structure, located in front of the Education Village, features eight elements designed to build strength and teamwork among students. Funded by $400,000 in donations and grants, the course supports WSU’s goal to be a leader in adventure education. The university plans to open the course to local K-12 students as well. “I have this little plaque hanging next to my door that says, ‘If you want an adventure, just step outside.’” said Scott Sorvaag, dean of the College of Education at WSU wrote the StarTribune. Dean Scott Sorvaag emphasized the importance of promoting health and wellness through outdoor activities.
