What are some ways to get around Winona without a vehicle?
Lyft Rideshare Service: Download the app and get a ride from a local, verified driver.
Bird E-Scooters: Available seasonally. Download the app to find a nearby electric scooter and rent.

The Winona Transit Bus Service runs Monday through Friday, 6:00 a.m. – 6:15 p.m. and on Saturdays from 9:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. with pickup and drop-off locations conveniently located all around Winona and Goodview. Single rides cost just $2 cash. Buses pick up and drop off anywhere along the four routes, you can request a Deviation from the route up to four blocks for $1.25. If you need to get picked up or dropped off more than four blocks from a bus route, Dial-a-Ride can get you there for $5.50. Call Dispatch at 507-454-6666 to schedule Deviation pickups and Dial-a-Ride service. Trip planning is available on Google Maps and the Transit App.
To or From Rochester, Twin Cities, Milwaukee or Chicago
Amtrak Train (To St. Paul, MN; Milwaukee, WI; or Chicago, IL): Winona’s historic train station now welcomes two Amtrak line stops, daily. Amtrak’s Empire Builder eastbound arrives in Winona around 10:54am; westbound around 8:34pm. The new Amtrak Borealis eastbound arrives in Winona at 1:40pm; westbound arrives at 4:36pm. There is free, overnight parking in the gravel lot onsite.

Parking in Winona
Finding a place to park in Winona is easy, whether you’re exploring our historic downtown, enjoying the riverfront, or heading to a local attraction. Free public parking is available throughout the city, with additional public lots and on-street parking conveniently located near shopping, restaurants, parks, and cultural attractions. Be sure to watch for posted parking signs and time limits, and if you’re visiting during the winter (November 15–March 15), remember that Winona’s alternate-side parking ordinance is in effect overnight to assist with snow removal.
Jet-Setting
Winona Municipal Airport – locally referred to as Max Conrad Field – is located at 106 Galewski Drive. It features a 5100 feet paved runway, automated weather services, instrument approach to airport, 100LL and Jet A with prist fuel, maintenance crew facilities, and hangar and T-hangar facilities.

Bluff Country Co-op
Bluff Country Co-op was one of the first Winona entities to adopt public EV infrastructure, installing a level two charger in its parking lot in 2018. Bluff Country Co-op General Manager Krissy Rowland said that as a way to show the grocery store’s commitment to sustainability, the charger is free to use for the public, but a $2 per hour donation would be much appreciated.

Winona State University
WSU offers 8 electric vehicle (EV) chargers for student, faculty, and public use.
There are two 15.4kW level 2 chargers at Kryzsko Commons in Silver lot 32, and four 15.4kW level 2 chargers and two 50kW DC fast charger at the IWC in Gold lot 1. The spaces are clearly marked in both lots.
You do not need a parking permit to park in these designated “EV Parking Only” spaces with your electric vehicle to use the charging stations. This only applies in designated spaces while actively charging, and time limits do apply.
