A Winona couple generously donated money to fund a new bike skills track at Bluffside Park. The Obertons, residents of Winona for 40 years, enjoy outdoor activity and were inspired by a mountain bike park in Wisconsin that their grandchildren enjoyed. $135,000 will be used to build a tot track, a beginner hub and an intermediate hub. Construction will begin on the tot track this fall followed by the beginner and intermediate hubs in the spring of 2024. Winona is working on developing a Bluff Traverse Trail as part of a master plan and this track will be the “size of a thumbprint,” in relation to the plan.

“The bicycle skills course is essentially a playground for bikes and is truly for all ages,” said Patrick Mention, Winona Director of Recreation Facilities.
