Great River Bluffs State Park one of 12 MN state parks for snowshoeing

The Great River Bluffs State Park is one of 12 state parks featured in the MN State Trails magazine for snowshoeing. The park is located south of Winona along the Great River Road atop a bluff that offers a panoramic view of the Mississippi River Valley. In the park are trail spurs that allow you to create your own snowshoeing trail and will get you to the overlook as well as other scenic spots in the park.

“In Minnesota’s state parks you can create your own trail and trek through forested hillsides, across prairie grasslands, over frozen, reed-lined marshes – anywhere a mantle of snow might invite you. While some parks offer groomed snowshoeing trails, you’re free to blaze you own trail through these winter wonderlands all across Minnesota and your routes are almost limitless.”
