Midwest Access, a KTTC news show that “features many talented people in the Midwest,” made a visit to the National Eagle Center in Wabasha. Ed Hahn, the NEC’s Director of Marketing and Communication, gave a tour to news reporter, Kamie Roesler. Four bald eagles, who were rescued due to injuries they sustained, are housed at the NEC and the public gets an opportunity to view them up close with the help of avian education specialist. There are exhibits and resources that help educate the public about the “ecology, biology and natural history of eagles.” The NEC made some renovations in the last year also that shows the cultural, historical and artistic connection that eagles have with the human culture. The Center is located on the banks of the Mississippi River, giving visitors the experience of seeing eagles soaring along the open water.
