In their annual “Best of the Twin Cities” awards, the City Pages named Winona, MN the ‘Best Day Trip’ from Minneapolis!
The beautiful and simple two-hour drive down the Mississippi River adds to the allure of a trip to Winona. “Farm country, rolling green hills, and rocky crevices eventually give way to what this town has to offer: lakes, soaring bluffs, eagles, herons, and a bank-side view of the Mississippi River,” the article states.
Of course, there are the can’t-miss things to do while in town: art galleries, the historic downtown, attend one of the eight original festivals, and eat a Bloedow donut. “Pound Bloedow Bakery’s doughnuts, which have been voted best in the state too many times to count and are more or less a religion.”
Though it’s easy enough to make a day trip, the amount to do in the city will keep you there all weekend long! You can read the full article here.
