Minnesota Beethoven Festival

Winona welcomes world renowned artists

The Minnesota Beethoven Festival is an annual, three-week classical music festival in Winona, presenting nationally and internationally recognized artists in performance each summer.

“Every year we try to craft a concert schedule that includes a variety of ensembles and genres, and I really feel like this season in particular offers a wide range of amazing concert options for our audiences,” reports Artistic & Managing Director Ned Kirk. “We have a really nice balance that includes solo recitals, big orchestral concerts, and more intimate chamber music performances, and so whether people take in the entire Festival lineup, or pick and choose concerts, it gives them the opportunity to craft their own personal musical experience to suit their tastes.”

Epic performances each summer

Pianist Garrick Ohlsson returns to Winona to open the 2015 Minnesota Beethoven Festival. Other featured artists of the Festival’s ninth season include soprano Dawn Upshaw, the Takács Quartet, harpist Yolanda Kondonassis, pianist Vadym Kholodenko, and the Kalichstein-Laredo-Robinson Trio. Dale Warland will once again lead the Festival Chorale in a special weekend of concerts, and the Orpheus Chamber Orchestra will be making their third Festival appearance. The Minnesota Orchestra will present the annual free concert at Lake Park on July 2.
