Billy X Curmano’s New X Art Ensemble plays Saturday evening of the three-night event. Free Music Winona Minnesota is the 7th annual – no cover charge/no wrist band required – celebration for the weekend of May 9-11 with more bands still to be announced.
Billy X Curmano fronts Winona’s most bothersome variety band, the New X Art Ensemble, for an evening of original material. He’s joined by Ed Lagace on bass clarinet and flutes, percussionist Marvin Lightspeed with guitarists Dan Novak – bass and Jeff Strand – electric.
The band has been working in the XART Experimental Sound Lab on a new vinyl LP release. They are sure to bring some surprises to Broken World Records’ 7th annual free music event. Enjoy the sounds and unique atmosphere of Winona’s own record store that sells booze and…a bar that sells vinyl records.
