Live Music: Jimmy & Case

Jimmy Peterson and Casey Gooby are no strangers to the music game. Jimmy and Case spent the last five years playing small town venues in the upper Midwest. As luck would have it, they found something special in the Trempealeau Hotel. This renowned destination for live music, food and all things Wisconsin features a beautiful Mississippi river setting and vintage ambiance, with no shortage of friendly folks and a culture all its own.
The duo has been together for the last number of years, fueled by a generous enthusiasm for old guitars, gas station coffee, and the open road. These days you’ll find them traveling the midwestern backroads with their esoteric mix of rootsy foot-stomping guitar tunes.
Their shows typically feature a cacophony of guitar interplay. Peterson’s voice and original songs draw on some unusual influences such as David Gray, Ryan Adams and Richard Buckner. Set lists have also been known to contain a variety of classic material from a pantheon of American music that runs the gamut including Bob Dylan, John Prine and Jerry Garcia.
