Central Lutheran Highlights Pipe Organ’s 30th Anniversary with Recital Series

2024 marks the 30th anniversary of Central Lutheran’s magnificent Hendrickson pipe organ. To celebrate, the church will host a series of recitals beginning in February and continuing throughout the year. Performances will be from noon to 1 pm and are free and open to all. Donations collected from a freewill offering will support the instrument’s upcoming renovation.

On April 17th, organist Andrew Beine will perform works by Flor Peeters, Anton Bruckner, Andre Campra, J.S. Bach, and J.G. Albrechtsberger.

Andrew Beine is a senior college seminarian for the Roman Catholic Archdiocese of Milwaukee. He has called Winona home for the last four years while receiving priestly formation at Immaculate Heart of Mary Seminary. He is the seminarian head of liturgy and music planning and where he also serves as head organist. He sings in the seminary Schola Cantorum, which made its second annual spring performance tour this year through Wisconsin and Indiana. Beine began playing piano at the age of seven and picked up several wind and percussion instruments through his grade school years. He started learning organ under the tutelage of A. Eric Heukeshoven at the beginning of his academic studies at Saint Mary’s University of Minnesota. Upon graduation this spring, he plans to engage graduate theological formation in Rome, Italy in preparation for priestly ordination.
