The route along Highway 61 in southeastern Minnesota offers outstanding scenic beauty with the bluffs on one side of the road and the mighty Mississippi on the other. It winds through small and quaint river towns like Red Wing, Wabasha and Winona. The National Eagle Center in Wabasha featured live eagle programs and bird watching river cruises. Winona is home to many museums, festivals and outdoor recreational activities. The Great River Bluffs State park has hiking trails and a breathtaking scenic overlook of the Mississippi River Valley.
