- Garvin Heights Overlook: Perched nearly 575 feet above the Mississippi River Valley, Garvin Heights provides a full panoramic view of Winona. A flight of stairs, as well as a dirt path, run along the bluff’s edge from the lookout to the valley below.
- Prairie Island: This is Winona’s gateway to the wildlife refuge of the Mississippi backwaters and Deer Park Nature Trail. Launch your canoe, drop a line or camp under the stars.
- Hike through the bluffs at Bluffside Park: This park holds miles of premier hiking trails and picturesque lookouts over the valley and home to single track mountain bike trails
- Lake Park Trail: 5.3 miles of paved path for biking and walking around Lake Winona. Lake Lodge Recreation Center rents canoes, bikes and paddleboards.
- Latsch Island Park/Aghaming Park: Latsch Island, directly across the Main Channel from downtown Winona, is home to the city marina and an unusual community of floating homes. Bring your hiking boots for a trek through Aghaming Park, 1,950 acres of some of the best preserved floodplain forest in the country and a pristine destination for bird watching.
- Levee Park: Wander the tree-lined path in Levee Park, get an up close view of the main channel of the Mississippi River a prime spot to watch the barges, or dip your toe in the Mighty Mississippi.
