In a recent article in the Star Tribune, Winona was named one of the “five hottest small town destinations in Minnesota” because of its festivals, world-class art, and of course, Bloedow’s donuts! Just a quick two hour drive following the Mississippi River, Winona is the perfect place to take in the small-town feel with all the big city amenities.

The article states, “It’s not an exaggeration to call the city of 26,928 a cultural haven. Winona has been on a festival roll lately, coming up with original yearly events that draw tens of thousands. The city currently hosts eight annual festivals, from the Mid West Music Fest highlighting regional bands each spring, to the Great River Shakespeare Festival drawing Bard superfans from around the world every summer and the Frozen River Film Festival in winter.”

Along with the festivals, the article shows off the must-see Minnesota Marine Art Museum,  Ed’s No-Name Bar (lovingly called Winona’s living room),  Blue Heron Coffeehouse, and the infamous Bloedow Bakery. To read the whole article, click here.
