Inside Winona with Cynthya Porter

Who knows Winona better than the person in charge of marketing it? Marketing Specialist Cynthya Porter with Visit Winona recently shared the in’s and out’s of the city with the Winona Daily News. 

When asked what her elevator pitch is for Winona, Porter answered, “Winona took on a new brand about a year ago, and it’s that Winona is a city that’s surprisingly weird but in a really, really cool way … We’ve got the Minnesota Beethoven Festival here, we have a national Shakespeare festival here, we’ve got the Minnesota Marine Art Museum here, we’ve got the country’s best donut, we have two universities, we have all this incredible industry that’s headquartered here. On any one of those things people say, that’s weird, right? When you put that all onto a plate together, you say, it is weird, but it’s pretty awesome.”
