Mississippi River Series at the MMAM

Opening January 3 and running through April 16 at the Minnesota Marine Art Museum is Confluence: Geography, History, and Culture at the Intersection of the Mississippi and Minnesota Rivers, Photographs by Luke Erickson. Confluence is an exhibition of photographs highlighting the historical, economic and social importance of the Mississippi and Minnesota Rivers, and serves as a call to observe, preserve, and protect our watersheds. Each photograph captures the current state of these rivers and explores the interplay between natural features and man-made objects. Featured are images of the urban and rural sections of these rivers inside and out of the Minneapolis-St. Paul metropolitan area. Luke Erickson is a Minneapolis photographer and Director of the Foundation for the Exhibition of Photography. This exhibition is part of the Minnesota Marine Art Museum’s Mississippi River Series of ongoing exhibitions of artists inspired by the River. Visit http://www.mmam.org for more information.
