MPR Art Hounds highlights Pandemic Portraits

The Pandemic Portrait Project was featured on Art Hounds, a Minnesota Public Radio podcast. “Each week three people from the Minnesota arts community talk about a performance, opening, or event they’re excited to see and think others should check out.”  Mary Farrell, a Winona filmmaker and photographer, was a guest on the weekly podcast and shared her interest in the exhibition.

The project is a collection of portraits that were photographed by 40 Winona State University students and one community member.  “This project was inspired and informed by a workshop students participated in virtually with renowned Twin Cities-based photographer Wing Young Huie. Huie is celebrated internationally for his storefront exhibitions in St. Paul and Minneapolis.” The exhibition can be found up and down 3rd Street in downtown Winona, MN. Photographs are installed at the southeastern corner of Main and 3rd Streets, 67 East 3rd Street, 119 and 121 East 3rd Street, and on the southeastern corner of 3rd and Walnut Streets.
