The Page Series at Saint Mary’s University of Minnesota opens its 30th anniversary season Sept. 10 at 7:30 p.m. with Shapiro & Smith Dance. The modern dance company performs tales of beauty and biting wit that run the gamut from searingly provocative to absurdly hilarious. They dance with the breathtaking physicality and emotional depth that has earned them an international reputation for virtuosity, substance, craft, and pure abandonment. The performance includes 10 dancers from across the region who have been invited to dance with the company.
Saint Mary’s Department of Theatre and Dance opens its season with Lee Blessing’s Two Rooms (Sept. 22-24 at 7:30 p.m., Sept. 25 at 3 p.m.). The drama focuses on the experiences of an American hostage in Beirut and his wife in the United States.
