The Winona County Historical Society and River Arts Alliance form Art Partnership

The Slaggie Family Lobby at the Winona County History Center will host gallery space for regional artists in a new partnership with the Winona County Historical Society and River Arts Alliance. The pilot show, Making History: RAA Member Exhibit and Showcase, will open May 1 and run through June 19. It will feature selections from the RAA online member show going on now at riverartsalliance.org. WCHS and RAA hope to create new opportunities for partnerships and to showcase Winona County’s cultural heritage through local art.

Regional artists are invited to apply online now for future shows! Juried shows will be 6 weeks in length starting June 26. Please apply before April 12 for 2021 show selection. Proposals for all mediums and types of art are welcome.  More information and an application link can be found at winonahistory.org/artgallery.

The Slaggie Family Lobby at the Winona County History Center offers a grand venue for regional artwork to be showcased. WCHS and RAA are planning for three shows following the pilot show for this year. The Art of Fine Furniture exhibition will be held this fall, as well as Handmade Neighborhood and the Winona Art Walk. The lobby is still available to rent for events.

The gallery shows are free and open to the public and most art will be for sale. Regular museum admission applies for the History Center exhibits and archives. Find more at winonahistory.org and riverartsalliance.org. The Winona County History Center is open Monday – Saturday, 10 a.m. – 4 p.m.
