Underwater Dogs at Minnesota Marine Art Museum

A new exhibition is opening on August 23rd at the Minnesota Marine Art Museum in Winona.

The show, Underwater Dogs, will feature photographs by New York Times bestseller Seth Casteel of, well… dogs underwater! His book was the best selling photography book of 2012. A press release from the museum informs us that this is Mr. Casteel’s first museum exhibition.

The museum’s weekly happy hour event, Mississippi Sippin’, will be dog friendly on August 27th, and September 3, 10, 17, and 24th. The museum has renamed the event to “Mississippi Sippin’ (and Slurpin’)” in honor of Casteel’s show.

Seth Casteel: Underwater Dogs will run through January 5th, 2020.

The Minnesota Marine Art Museum is located at 800 Riverview Drive on the banks of the Mississippi River in Winona, MN. The museum features “great art inspired by water.” It houses many important works by famed artists such as Van Gogh, Monet, Picasso, O’Keeffe and scores of other household names from the world of art. The museum’s hours are 10am to 5pm every Tuesday through Sunday. On the 2nd Saturday of each month they offer $1 admission with family-centric programming and guided tours as an accessibility project funded in part by the Minnesota State Arts Board.
