John McGivern’s Main Streets TV program features Winona

John McGivern, popular host of Main Streets, a program presented by PBS Wisconsin, visited Winona to “celebrate the people who live here and the unique attractions, history and businesses of the community.”  The focus of the program is to highlight the heritage of communities across the Midwest and McGivern’s visit to Winona included a cross section of the business, cultural and historical aspects of Winona. He made visits to downtown Winona, St. Stan’s Basilica, MN Marine Art Museum, Windom Park’s Wenonah statue, Willet Hauser Architectural Stained Glass Studio, Lake Park Municipal Band Concert, Watkins Company, Sugarloaf Bluff, WNB Financial, Wenonah Canoe, Latsch Island boathouse community, riverboat cruise docking on the Mississippi River, Nosh Scratch Kitchen, Bloedow Bakery, CodaBow, downtown Winona’s historic red light district and Yarnology.
