Since opening her downtown Winona shop and studio in 2022, Annie Grossarth-Nicol has been sharing her love of science and art through unique glasswork techniques at Rose Colored Glass.

Rose Colored Glass was recently featured in a story by WKBT News 8000, “Winona businesswoman shares art of glass torchwork with community“. Grossarth-Nicol discussed the need for glasswork artists to maintain complete focus when working on a piece, due to safety factors of working with fragile and sometimes temperamental materials like fire, gas and glass.

Grossarth-Nicol offers group and private classes and workshops in beadmaking, glass blowing, solid sculpture and more. There are also open studio hours where torch-certified artists can come in to use the tools of the trade in a shared, group setting. A variety of handmade glass items can also be purchased on the Rose Colored Glass website or in person at the shop, located at 279 East 2nd Street in downtown Winona.
