Submissions are open for the One-Act Playwriting Competition, hosted by Theatre du Mississippi. Dust off those creative cobwebs and send us your original, unproduced scripts. Whether it’s a 10-minute whirlwind or a full-hour epic, we’re interested! We’re looking for playwrights who live in the tri-state area: Minnesota, Wisconsin, or Iowa.
The deadline for submissions is May 26th, 2024 at 11:59pm. Full guidelines and rubric can be found here.
Winning scripts will be produced and performed as part of the Original Shorts event (dates and times TBD).
- Playwrights of winning scripts will receive a cash prize.
- Intention to produce an approximately two-hour block of plays.
- The number of accepted plays and cash prize amounts may vary depending on play lengths.
