Christie Ransom, president and CEO of the Winona Area of Chamber of Commerce, talked up Winona on Minnesota Medley, a podcast featuring Minnesota towns. Ransom raved about Winona, its scenic beauty, outdoor recreation, arts and culture, ethnic and farm-to table dining, industry and manufacturing and higher education to name just a few things. Winona is a popular place to visit all year round but Ransom especially called out the Cherry trees blossoming at Lake Park in the Spring and the changing colors of the bluffs in the Fall as examples of her favorite times of year. For fun, she suggests going boating in the summer on the Mississippi River and enjoying a cocktail at the local brewery.
Winona has recently been in the news about Visit Winona’s tongue-in-cheek campaign, the Miami of Minnesota, featuring pink flamingos and alligators and the podcast hosts got a big chuckle out of that.
In closing Ransom said “There really is something for everyone to do in Winona.”
