WKBT News 8 did a spot on Winona State University celebrating the 5-year anniversary of its Education Village with an open house on Saturday. Comprising three buildings near the main campus, the village is home to Winona’s College of Education, serving around 20% of WSU students. The event welcomed the community and alumni to envision the future of the Education Village. Dawnette Sigrand, a professor at WSU, expressed her enthusiasm, stating, “I think we’re just wanting everybody to know that we’re here, and we’re thrilled to have these beautiful buildings. It’s really great to have everybody here and having fun and just enjoying learning and education.” The open house featured guided tours, food trucks, inflatable obstacle courses, and more. Additionally, the Education Village hosts resource centers, a campus rock climbing center, and a study lounge. It was a day of celebration and exploration, highlighting the significance of education in the community.
