The Minneapolis St. Paul magazine sang Winona’s praises in a feature that highlighted 12 MN towns to visit for a weekend getaway.
A Winona weekend itinerary included places to stay like the new Video Vision Airbnb, places to eat and drink, the Blue Heron Coffeehouse, Island City Brewing Company, Garvin Heights Vineyards and Nosh Scratch Kitchen and a place to hear two days of nonstop live music, the Mid West Music Fest, one of Winona’s 8 cool festivals. Other highlights were visits to Winona’s museums: Minnesota Marine Art Museum, Polish Cultural Institute and Museum, the Watkins Museum and the Winona County Historical Society’s Bunnell House and Rural Heritage Museum. The downtown historic district is a site to see with more than 100 sites on the National Historic Register of Historic Places. Levee Park is the gateway to the Mississippi River and features boulders to test your climbing skills.
