While the sweeping views of the bluffs will take your breath away, the food at Signatures Restaurant is what will keep you coming back. Signatures—formerly the Winona Country Club—is situated atop the rolling landscape of connected Bridges Golf Course, providing viewing entertainment in season and unparalleled sunset experiences from the Patio, Summer House or Signatures’ Porch that features floor-to-ceiling windows throughout. General Manager Christian Staehly took the helm at the start of the new year and has exciting plans for this quintessential Winona dining establishment.

What brought you to this profession and what do you enjoy most about it?

“I started bartending in college which led me to bartending and managing at the Waterfront Restaurant in La Crosse and I realized right away the passion that I had for the food and service industry. My favorite thing about this profession is all the new people you get to meet along the way. I also enjoy how much this industry is always evolving and allowing us to constantly keep up on the times and try and explore new things.”

What is the inspiration behind the menu at your restaurant?

“I am currently working with Chef Beck on our new menu rollout for April and learning his passions and the direction we are taking with the restaurant(s). I am excited to see what the new menu brings and tying everything together and highlighting his talent and vision on the plates the guest gets to enjoy.”

What is a customer favorite on your menu and why?

“I promptly realized that the fried pickles are a fan favorite here. It is a perfect combination with the acidity of the pickle matching the peppery tang of the pastrami and the savoriness of the batter pairs perfectly with the house made chipotle ranch.”

What is YOUR favorite item on the menu and why?

“The Brisket Melt is an awesome sandwich—my mouth is actually watering while I type this reply. The house smoked brisket makes you want to go back for another bite immediately as the melted pepper jack, mushrooms and peppers are a perfect compliment!”

What is your favorite food or drink from another area establishment and why?

“I haven’t made it to another establishment for drinks yet but my plan is start exploring in the near future. Winona has quickly become a destination spot for food and drinks and I am excited to experience it all. It’s amazing how many great options this area has available.”

What is one thing about this restaurant that people who have never been here should know?

“We offer an awesome variety of dining experiences, from casual pub to supper club to fine dining. We want to make sure every guest leaves with a smile on their face and wanting to come back for more. Hard to beat a great round of golf at Bridges with incredible views, followed by great company, food and refreshments!”
