April 20 @ 10:00 am

Winona-Public-Library-Exterior-Winona-Historic-Building
On Saturday, April 20th at 10am in the Winona Public Library, join Taliesin Nyala, a local artist who breathes life into wood, on an exploration where craftsmanship meets community. Taliesin has created eight items in collaboration with Habitat for Humanity serving Winona County as gifts for new homeowners. She will share stories about the evolution and process of crafting unique, handmade welcome gifts that embody the Habitat motto of creating “homes, community, and hope.”
Taliesin is a woodworker, writer, and artist living in Winona. She designs and builds heirloom-quality wood furniture and decor out of sustainably harvested Minnesota hardwoods. Alongside this, she writes a bimonthly newsletter on her experiences working in this craft and becoming an artist.
This activity is made possible by the voters of Minnesota through a grant from the Southeastern Minnesota Arts Council thanks to a legislative appropriation from the arts & cultural heritage fund.
