Community Big River Clean

Spring has sprung and it’s time to get outside and get together to clean up the river we all love and care for. Join the Minnesota Marine Art Museum and other community organizations including Fastenal, Coca-Cola Bottling Company of Winona, Winona Post, the Minnesota Department of Natural Resources, Big River Magazine and the Land Stewardship Project on April 20 as we organize volunteer cleanup crews to pick up riverside flotsam, roadside trash, and manage the museum’s six-acres of riverfront plants and shoreline habitat.  MMAM’s Shoppe will also feature a weekend-long Spring Liquid-ation Sale featuring all kinds of unique items (books, paddles, water bottles, garden tools, sketch pads…) to help you deepen your connection to the outdoors as well as great discounts across the whole Shoppe to help us make room for new offerings!

Dig in and deepen your engagement and relationship with the waterfront at this inaugural Earth Day event, all the while supporting MMAM’s clean water and climate initiatives, in partnership and with the community! Families, all ages, and all abilities welcome.

April 20 Schedule:

• 10:00am: Museum opens [Registered participants get free museum admission, all day long], and Spring Liquidation Sale kicks off!

• 10:30am:  Teams assemble outside in the gardens at MMAM [800 Riverview Drive, Winona, MN].

• 11am – 12pm:  Work crews are dispersed to clean up the river banks and surrounding areas.

Refreshments and treats available. Free museum admission for registered clean- up crew members. Please let us know if you can join us!
