Come on. Our mosquitos aren’t that big, there are no alligators in the Mississippi River (at least not here), and we don’t have a Gator Gauntlet Zipline. Also, flamingos would never let you ride them and swimming with alligators would be craaaazy.

However, heading to Winona for a little fun – not crazy. Even if there are no alligators or flamingos and our mosquitoes are normal-sized, we wrote the book on ways to entertain ourselves and you’re invited to come play with us. It’s fun here 🙂

The Miami of Minnesota? See, that’s a little joke because we are officially the warmest city in Minnesota and we sit on the border right where Miami is in Florida. Plus we have beaches – lots of them thanks to the beautiful Mississippi River. Heck, we’re almost twins.

Okay, maybe not, but this place is special. You can hike, bike, climb and paddle here to your heart’s content – alligator-free even – because we are situated in pure paradise. Towering bluffs and a Mighty blue Mississippi River cradle us in the Southeastern corner of Minnesota where eagles fly overhead and thousands of acres of public land are available for the playing.

Foodies love us for our more than 40 unique eateries serving up everything from perfect Sicilian dishes to classic American fare with a gourmet twist. And music and arts lovers flock here for festivals and events that are shockingly cool for a small river city. Plus, we’re kind of fun to be around.

Take a look at our event calendar and see for yourself, then start planning your weekend adventure to Winona. You’re going to love it.
