Midwest Weekends did fall leaf peepers a great favor. They compiled a list of places to view fall colors over a seven week period of time starting in September and ending in early November. Winona County’s Whitewater State Park was among the best places to see the Fall colors and by the fourth weekend of October, the colors have reached their peak. “One year, I spent this weekend in southeast Minnesota ‘s Whitewater State Park and was amazed by the widespread color on the bluffs, set off here and there by the greens of red cedar,” wrote Beth Gauper.
